"Hey! I know that guy!" (Delta Super Fan Video)

Pretty awesome of you guys to do that! I'm sure all of us can relate to a 12 year old kid nerding out about aviation

Speaking to Harris was literally like speaking to myself at 12 years old.

Probably the coolest thing was having the parents tell me that now, after meeting me, they understand their son. His love of aviation and airports literally came out of the middle of nowhere, just like mine.

That was a really nice thing your were able to do Doug.
I have no doubt the whole family will never forget it.

@Derg Way cool. How did you become involved in this? Was it your idea from seeing him on Kimmel, or did the company come to you? What's the story?

Nope, wasn't my idea at all! I was sitting around the house, fat, dumb and happy and SouthernJets called to say they had a project that had my name written all over it and if I would be willing to help! :)

I really didn't know the initial video from the Kimmel show existed until they called so I'm literally getting briefed over the telephone and looking it up on YouTube at the same time.

Your tie was a little loose.

;)

Well done. Something he and his family will remember forever. I fell in love with aviation at a much younger age than that, but I was around 12 and took a 727 to CVG and a 767 from CVG-BOS. That's when I fell in love with the 767. I was blown away at the fact that a plane had TWO aisles in it!

Very cool, Doug. Well done sir! Sometimes we forget why we got into this profession and then we are reminded when we come across kids like this.

Ran into a young man working at the local Apple Store recently. My wife introduced me to him because he was a college student working on his ratings on the side and his dream was to be a professional pilot. I saw myself in him back in the day. It was nice to see and speak with him.

Thanks for the call.

You're in Rhinebeck? :) I was out in the sticks. Could 0600 in the morning standing in the middle of the street with a full film crew setting up the lighting, then the parade of neighbors started wondering what in the world was going on, it was hilarious!
