Operational Alerts: Aircraft Evacuation Pilots Wanted
Contract pilot Susan Anderson of West Palm Beach, Fla., is attempting to develop on her own time and at her own expense a list of pilots who would be available for hire on relatively short notice to help owners, dealers, brokers and operators relocate aircraft from areas, particularly Florida, that might be in the path of oncoming hurricanes or tropical storms. Hurricane Ivan is the current threat, expected to hit Florida late Sunday or early Monday. It's about time someone did something like this. I still can't believe what I saw when I stopped by at ORL the day after Charley came through there. There were so many planes trashed and I know there isn't a shortage of pilots.

Maybe someone can do that from the "GA Level" in Florida? Most of us know people at flight schools and could set rates and do it on a very professional level.

It'd be a great way to supplement your CFI salary!
