HELP!!

kinda like how PFTers have to make excuses for their choices.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow, I guess you don't like PFT. Too bad that's a product FSI sells.

[ QUOTE ]
actually they hired your grads cause they reached the magic numbers of 1500TT. Every other academy can claim this anyway.

[/ QUOTE ]

More like 1000TT/100ME. I don't know how this compares to what kind of numbers people from other schools need. However, it is nice when the airline comes to the campus and the sim ride is the CRJ FTD that you already have 30+ hours in.

[ QUOTE ]
BULLSH*T, its called SimCom and no the airline captains dont go to FPR or DVT to get their reccurent. Separate organization people!

[/ QUOTE ]

Your knowledge of the organization is a little off. SimCom does do the general aviation stuff. Pan Am Academy, primarily in Miami, has sims for most Boeing and McDonald Douglas products, plus a couple Airbus aircraft. Most of Pan Am's revenue is from operating heavy sims.

So what, you think leather seats, new avionics, and a spiffy paint job are gonna teach you to fly any better. And dont give me the "maintence" excuse either I have never flown a plane younger then me and I never had a problem.

[/ QUOTE ]

Customer choice. Sure there is nothing wrong with training in older aircraft. Given a choice I would take a new, air conditioned, GPS equip aircraft.

Your whole perception of Pan Am is based off of their advertising and what you've read in the forum here. Have you even ever visited the school? Pan Am grads are getting hired, and the one serious issue of waiting to instruct is slowly going away. BTW, FSI has the instructor wait problem also.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well at least Pan Am is addressing the flight instructor wait issue. That's good! (I'm trying real hard to be postive; I'm about to pop a vein here

)

MontantaPilot just going to warn you. You are going to be labeled a basher now. I've been trying to say the exact same things you have in a roundabout way but the people with no flight time don't really seem to listen. I say preach on though!

Anyway, one last time. Seriously, THE AIRLINES DON'T CARE WHERE YOU TRAIN PEOPLE, SO SAVE THE TENS OF THOUSANDS IN YOUR LOANS/BANK ACCOUNTS!

And one last thing, MontanaPilot does have a point; the SimCom, heavy simulator Pan Am stuff where people get type ratings has nothing to do with the flight academy. (Actually, he has a truthful point about everything but I'd better stop before I'm here all night.)

I know it's semantics...but the Simcom unit does not do airline training. A seperate unit from both the academy and Simcom, also called Pan Am does the airline stuff.

Some people want to go the academy route, and mavmb you may not agree with them. However, Pan Am is no worse or better then FSI. Atleast Pan Am didn't disappear in the middle of the night like ATA. And unlike FSI, Pan Am does not sell PFT.
