Help with Universal FMS

Still trying to reach the Top Shelf
I'm not sure where to post this so "General" gets it by default.

I have to take an older model jeeeeeeeeeet to Africa. It's equipped with a Universal UNS1-L FMS. I've flown the UNS1-K but I'm not sure the difference.....
Anyone out there have a manual for the "L" model that I can use/borrow? [I'll return it] OR if you have a PDF, that would be great.

Thank you, in advance, for any help you can provide......

I did some training on it for a be300 type rating. I remember searching for info before hand and remember there is a sim available. I felt pretty comfortable after about 2 hours with simulate's sim.

I can't remember if ours is a UNS1-k or -l, but I'll check the manual when I get to the office in an hour and get back to you. Which ever one it is I'm a wiz at it, so you may just want to take me along to walk you through it :)

I think the only difference is the size of the keypad. K is made for tighter spaces. Which country?

Alex.

The menus and functionality are identical. As Alex said, the only difference is the size of the keypad. So the letters and the function keys might have moved around, from what you're used to, but once you figure out where all the physical keys are everything else will work exactly the same.

Yeah, the UNS-1L is just supposed to be the best of the -1 series. Just a different layout with pretty much the same functionality.

Excellent! All I got was the spec sheet so I haven't put it to power.Thank you for the help. BTW Alex, going north then down through Europe, Algeria to Nigeria

Jim, did I mention I'm bilingual? I'm fluent in German. You really should consider taking me along on your crossings through Europe. I'll help you make sure the plane is appropriately serviced with brennstoff and oel, and stocked with all the streusel and kloesse you can eat. Oh, and you can't make a crossing through Europe without picking up some Uladag from a Doener Kabab stand.

You coming to Abuja or Lagos? What are you flying down? I'm based here in Abuja on a 45

Abuja initially for customs then on to Kaduna actually but most likely will fly around the area for a while. I'll drop a line as it gets close and I'll treat you to some peppered chicken!

I love the peppered chicken, I had some the other night that felt like it was melting my skull off
