Hey guys! Real quick question, what exactly does this mean the total cost for flight are for all 4 years at UCM?
This is the information I found:

PVT-A: $4800, PVT-B:$4200
INST-A:$4000, INST-B:$3770
COMM-A:$3500, COMM-B:$3000, COMM-C:$3000
COMM-D:$3400, COMM-E:$3400, COMM-F:$3700
"Then you get your CFI, CFII, MEI, Glider, and Tailwheel but those can wait i think."

A buddy that goes to UCM just sent me that.

Basically, from what I remember (I went there for the 2007-2008 school year), they break the flight courses up into blocks, to give you an idea of something you can actually accomplish in a single semester. Add those all up, and you'd get the total cost for Private, Instrument, Commercial, if you do them at the bare-minimum times. My math brings that up to just short of $37,000. Give yourself some wiggle room there, and I'd say $42,000 would be a decent number to go with. I don't remember their hourly rates, but you could probably call the airport, and they'd give them to you.

What the heck is a,b,c,d,f? Your grades determine your cost?
They split the course up, so that you have different blocks to accomplish. Some are nothing but cross country. One is complex aircraft operations, etc... Not a bad idea, gives you a shorter term ability to forecast costs.

I think many schools break up commercial training like that. At least the school I went to did.

These are semester based. PVT-A (Private Pilot A) and PVT-B (Private Pilot B) is total of 9000. add that for each and you get a total of 36770. Do not forget to add the cost of books, FAA knowledge test and practical test to approximately 2k more. And then you have normal tuition on top of that.

Looks like I'll end up with about $73,200 of total costs for school if I go to UCM, which I probably will. This is great since I get $100,000 inheritance when I'm 18. $26,800 left in my pocket, YESH! :rawk:
