I am new to this site and I am sure you people have been asked this 1000 times before but here goes..I am a 48 year male who always wanted to be a pilot.I am just starting flying lessons i did do some in college. At my old age of 48 what types of flying jobs if any could I hope to get. I do have a another source of income from a business.0r Is it just to late for professional pilot? Thanks

Welcome to the site! What types of flying are you wanting to do? Strictly airline or corporate flying, or are you open to any kind of flying?

Welcome.
At 48 you'll have trouble getting hired at a airline by the time you are ready in two to three years (if they are hireing then). A federal law forbids anybody over 60 to fly for the airlines.
You can still try to fly private jets for a corprate operation or something else.
If nothing else, go get your Private Pilots liscense it's far easier thant everyone thinks. You probably spend more on golf than I spent getting my liscense. After that you can decide if you want to pursue it as a career.

Actually, if you could pull all your ratings together and build up 1200 hours in the next 3-4 years, the regional airlines would love to have you because they'll know you're not going to be running off the the majors. If you're lucky, you'd then have a good 6-7 years before you turn 60. I think it's safe to say, though, that it will be unlikely for you to reach the majors with only 12 years to 60 y/o.
There are other routes besides the airlines, such as corporate, flight instructing, charter, and some freight operations. So if it's something you really want to do, go for it!!!
But make sure you thoroughly read through this site first so that you'll be going in with eyes wide open.

I stand corected.
However at 48 I wouldn't personally want to go through the trouble to get hired at a regional and fly as a 52 year old FO.

Welcome to the site! Although I personally don't get around to posting much on this site, I do read what people have to say almost every day. As I'm sure you will find, there are many GREAT people on this site
that do post a lot who are very knowledgeable and helpful. So as far as the flying questions and career questions go, I'll leave it to them ...for the most part.
But if you have any questions relating to aeronautical engineering, I may be inclined to jump in.
