I'll tell you this. While Anita might sound like the Oxford dictionary when she speaks, she can't understand any good old ghetto rambling!!

I remember awhile back we were watching, or trying to watch, The original kings of comedy. 15 minutes into the movie I was ready to split my pants laughing, Anita says to me "I can't understand a bloody thing anyone is saying!"

Black comedy is wasted on her, we have to stick to Black Adder, Monty Python and the lot!!! Oh, the shame of it!

Kristie, can you understand "Black folk" talk?

I like it with grated cheese on the top and black pepper.
My wife thinks I'm crazy.

p.s. You have to remember that baked beans are different in jolly ol' England than they are in the good ol' U S of A. Ours are in tomato sauce rather than honey, sugar, BBQ or other crap.

Well, I'm in Dubai now. The weather is great. The city has changed more than I could have ever imagined. There are no words to describe it. Now that i've seen it, I don't know why it took me this long to come back for a visit. The amount of wealth out here is mind boggling. This city blows away any I've been to my whole life, and I've traveled all the major cities of the world since my early teens. Wow. Just amazing.

Ditto on that. I thought the same thing when I was in Dubai back in '93. It was by far my favorite port call except for Sydney ;). Had dinner at the Hyatt Regency in the rotating restaurant and went ice skating just off the hotel lobby. Yes, an ice rink in the desert country. A great and modern city. Loved every minute of it.
 
Why eat Indian when he is going to Afghanistan - that would be like telling an American to go to MacDonalds!!!

English food is great - we just do not tell the Americans about our good resturants. We consider their tastes crass, which null and voids their opinions on such subject so we merely entertain them.

If you came to England with me you would have some fabulous food - great fish and chips, Sunday roast, and one of my favorites - good old spotted dick!

Clotted cream is a very thick cream (sweet, not like sour cream) that is typically dollopped onto scones and jam during "tea-time". Very popular in Devonshire and Cornwall (aka "The West Country").
