Awesome! I learned to fly in SoCal (El Toro MCAS). There's some great aerial scenery along the coast, off shore (Catalina / Avalon) and a bit inland. You'll have a ball! Heck, once you get your license, you're close enough to Mexico to make an Ensanada trip with your buds.
