Hey everyone, my name is Sergio and basicly im 17 years old have and have dreamed of flying ever since my dad used to take me to LGA to watch the planes come in for a landing and when he took me to his aviation college in NY. I have been flying on my home simulator for years and im in the process of buiulding an Airbus A3XX cockpit (not decided which variant haha) I know alot about aircraft and operations. Im strongest in the B767 and Airbuses.
He never finished as he had to support a family and so he doesnet have much info on the subject what im going to ask.
I just hope I can ask this here, sorry if I shouldnt.
So basicly im quite lost on how I would go about getting a job with an airline after my 2 years of flight training. I know I need to rack up the hours, was thinking the traditional way of being a flight instructor.
I have been told by some people (not pilots but aviation enthusiasts) that it will take upwards of 10 years to be able to make it to a Major airline as an FO such as Emirates.
I have seen people become an FO below the age of 25 and this is something I really want to do. Not because im just in a rush to get to the big aircrafts, but more of a dream that I want to fullfill of flying transcontinental flights, really to Dubai and with Emirates. I really hope I dont sound too childish about this but I am a bit lost and really dont have anyone to talk to about it. For me theres nothing better than flying overnight for hours and then watch the sunrise from 35,000+ feet which I have done many times but as a passenger. Theres just something about flying that relaxes me and just makes me feel sooo good, its a drug xD
So I just want to understand how I should go after my asosciate in Commercial Pilot to get a job with an airline. I understand I may need to fly regional, but I dont want to spend hafl my life with that. How would I go about getting a job in a major transcontinental airline the earliest possible?
Im sorry if this sounds like im just dreaming but I need some advice.
Thanks in advance,
Sergio S.
