Heart Surgery

I have a friend that had heart surgery and is looking to get back into flying with a third class medical.

It was a full bypass surgery. He has been doing well for 5 years and isn't on many meds. Unfortunately I don't know what meds he is on, but what would he most likely need to do to get his medical back if at all possible?

I don't know much about heart surgery and # bypass etc. but your friend might be able to get more a third class as Dr. Forred has given a link to check out information pertaining to this.

I just wanted to add this. Ever since I found out that a 777 captain I know of has a pacemaker, I no longer assumed that conditions that seem unairworthy, are unairworthy!
