Headsets for kids?

The big day is coming up! My private checkride is scheduled for next Tuesday!

If all goes as planned, I'll be taking my wife and kids up shortly afterwards. Which leads me to the reason for this post.....

What make / model headsets would you guys recomend for my wife and 2 kids ( ages 7 and 10)?

Also, the plane that I fly only has connections for two headsets. Is there some kind of splitter that I can buy?

For the wife, how about a good ol' trust pair of DCs?

Thanks for the links.

Looking at the one for the splitter though, it looks like you would only be able to hear, not talk with it. Is that the case?

I have a brand new DRE-4000 headset that I would be willing to let go at a fair price. This is a basic stereo headset, with good passive noise reduction, but without ANR. If your wife will not be flying often, they'd be a decent choice. Send me a personal message, if you'd like more details.

I wouldn't get a splitter, I'd get an intercom. You can find them cheap on eBay ($30). Also, you can get kids headsets on eBay for cheap. I wouldn't spend $115 on a pair of headsets your kids will outgrow in a short few years.
 
At age 7 & 10 the kids are probably big enough to wear a regular sized headset. For that age, I wouldn't spend the money for 'kids' ones. If they were toddlers, I would, but not for kids that old.

My DC-H10.13.4 has plenty of adjustment in the fittings, it would probably fit a kid of that age just fine (and probably fit your wife too).
 
Yeah, at that age I would just get a regular headset. My 4 year old uses my old david clarks with no problem. Worst problems I have is my 2 year old and his fascination with the microphone foam. He has the uncanny ability of removing it and making it disappear, never to be found again (I think we must be on replacement #10 by now). Not an issue for a 7 and 10 year old though I imagine.
