Headline Feature Disabled?

I clicked on the AMR losing billions links to depress myself even more, and I got a message that the headline feature is disabled. Can it be turned back on?

Seems to work for me, lemme fiddle around with it some more...

Same thing is happening to me; I've tried it on several computers and it still says "Headline function disabled." However, there could be something wrong with the computers I used though.

I tried on all three computers here at the Taylor compound and they're all working.

I wonder if it's a firewall issue or something...

I no longer have a firewall on my home PC. I keep clicking on the different headlines and I keep getting this

I'll try at work tomorrow and see what comes up.

The link worked? That is weird. Here's the message that came up. [ QUOTE ]
Headline functionality has been disabled.
Please contact the administrator of this website to report this fault.

Now if you tell me I just pasted the article I was trying to read I'm REALLY going to freak out. I'm going to turn off the computer before I get sucked in like the dude from Tron. Either that or get caught posting on "those pilot websites" again when my wife gets home in about 15 minutes. I can't tell you what would be worse.

Ok, now it's not working on the desktop but it is working on the laptop. Strange.

Anyway, I emailed "moreover.com" -- the people that run the streaming news, but considering it went from a free news feed to a $6000 contract annually in the past six months, they might not be too responsive to my problem since I'm paying them a whopping $0.

Please be patient!

Here's my response from moreover.com:

Dear Douglas,

Thanks for getting in touch.

It seems your newsfeeds on www.jetcareers.com have been shut off because they are in violation of our Terms and Conditions.

Our terms and conditions, updated on November 14, 2001, now state that you may not use Moreover's service in any commercial properties or applications, including web sites, intranets, extranets and software, no matter when the links were integrated.

We will continue to make our free service available only to non-commercial properties. To summarize, 'non-commercial' refers to not-for-profit organizations.
Please take the time to review our terms and conditions at:
http://w.moreover.com/main_site/aboutus/portalterms.html

I would like to switch you over to a client feed, which will be an upgrade
in service and offer you a discount on the newsfeeds you're currently using.

What the upgrade will entail is inserting a client ID that will allow the
feeds to update more frequently. As it is now that feed is being cached at
about 1 hour rather than updating every 15 minutes. Also, as a client you
will be given access to CI MANAGER which will allow you to edit your feed
(add or remove stories) as well as move headlines within the feeds.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Fiona

You may not be a 501 c(3), you've made it clear to us all that jetcareers is definitley a not-for-profit organization. I guess they only offer free service to 501 c(3) organizations. Sorry to see that.

Here's the latest:
Doug,

Typically the most substantial discount available would be 25%, however
given the nature of your site I would like to offer you a 50% discount.
Bringing the price down from $5500 for the year to $2750 for the one
category you are using.

If you are using additional categories please let me know.

Cheers,

Fiona

Hi Fiona-

We're more or less a website bringing aviation to kids. But what would the
pricing be?
