"He gave me the shirt off his back."--US1549

He was the only nonrevver. He was suppose to be sitting in the jumpseat, but they had a seat open in the back.

Memo from the company...

Also in an email that was sent to me that his father sent out, this was said...

Very cool to hear. This is another example of why things went as well as they did.

Just another example of the news media telling the facts as they want them. This will be the correction - A pilot for Culligan Air was a dead head on the flight. He flies the little planes and hopes to fly a big plane someday.

Sounds like there was a lot of professionalism that day. Glad to hear it.

It was a Colgan Beech 1900 First Officers Shirt that was given!

Now I am sure he will have to wear his 'other' shirt the rest of the month. Poor guy! At 24K a year I am sure he can afford at least one more though.

Thank god doesn't do it for the money.

Yep.

I should add that the higher ups at our company offered to pay for his shirt, all the belongings he lost including a new suitcase, flight case, headset, laptop, etc., and gave him a week off with pay.

Very respectable of the company.... I respect them for that as there are other carriers that wouldn't do the same.

Yep. I do have to say that in this example as well in the past, they have always showed that they do the right things in these type of situations.
