Mft1Air........ You nailed it on the head ! One person will, most likely, be viewed by management as a whiner but you get enough people get together and approach management as a group you will come closer to getting changes made. I have used that approach while in the military and most recently as a police officer. Always had better luck with the group approach.

The story about your "friend".... That was funny !!

My thought? You have the leadership skills earned from the military to "influence" vice "lecture" on methods most effective to an organization. The kids who are CFI's. . .most are clueless. They are simply building hours for the to become students AGAIN when they are selected for *training* at the airlines. . .yes, they go BACK to student status themselves under a bureaucratic system in which they are clueless and in a learning mode Lead them. . .show them the way.

Wesley,

Here is a possible approach to getting things changed.
1. Talk with other students and find out how many want to be able to fly on weekends.

2. Do a cost benefit analysis to show how much money the school can add to the bottom line by being available to train on the weekends.

3. Approach management as a group and have one person be the spokesman for the group. Make your presentation in a non confrontational way.

4. Make the presentation in a way, that conveys,it's a financial benefit to the school to train on weekends.

Granted it's for the students but if you present it as it benefits the school's bottom line it will have a better chance of succeeding than playing it benefits the student.

Try that route and see how it works. Above all..... Do it as a group !

Way funny! In my experience as a general rule the more impressive an aviator's career the more humble they are. Conversely, the most arrogant end up humbled in a biblical way. To misquote the great silver screen epic TOPGUN "I'm an ass hole and lucky to be here".

So a group of us got together, and thank you all for your help. Aerosim will now have "volunteer" instructors on sundays, and will open a half day on saturday, even though with student turnout, the first weeks schedule is a full 8am-7pm sat. and 8am-5pm sun. Thank you all for your guidance, time, perspectives, and comedy. JC has and will continue to be awesome! Hope everyone has a great memorial weekend!
