Nah, he's one of my best friends in the world, I wouldn't do him like that.

I will let him know who is alpha, though. Just get that established early in the weekend, go out, watch @Rocketman99 get lost at a Rush concert and imbibe more than a gentleman should imbibe.
 
My theory is that the pilots knew the avionics weren't working. Based on what I'm hearing from speaking to others about that company, they were known to fly without avionics, radar, etc. from time to time. Evidently they are very cheap & they make cuts on the maintenance.
So the fact that there was NO distress call, makes me lean towards the theory that the pilots knew. They were used to flying without the plane operating correctly.
Can the NTSB find that out?

Your profile indicates that you have a G-IV type rating, based on your post I doubt it.

The FO was flying and was actually pretty experienced - 4500 hrs.

The CA told him he was flying too slow prior to the descent and to decrease his descent rate/don't exceed 2000 FPM on the approach (3x).

It sounds like the MDA took them by surprise possibly causing an aggressive control input/stall:

The CA was described as 'rapidly' saying, "okay level off guy." This was instantly followed by stick shaker to the end.
