Hawaiian Severe Turbulence

I would not be surprised if it was more than 1/2 the pax have their belts off at any given time. Doesn’t make any sense to me, but people are stupid.

It kinda seems a no brainer sometimes, like youre sitting…just put your damn belt on… kinda like kicking the box with your flotation device (to make sure you can find it) or actually seeing which exit is closer to your seat (in front or behind)…Im perhaps the epitome of NFG in an airplane (as long as the wings stay on), but even I can take an extra 10 seconds.

Also, severe turb is no joke. I have literally told ATC to “standby, otherwise ill bite my tongue off” while accepting vectors.

Good reminder to keep your seatbelt on!
My wife and I flew LAX-HNL 2 weeks ago on the A330. An hour after takeoff my wife reclines her seat to lie flat mode and begins snoozing. A few minutes later I remembered this story so I checked her seatbelt. Unbuckled! I reached over and buckled her up. People sitting unbuckled in seats in cruise will never end. Too many unaware people that never pay attention to 90% of what’s going on outside 3 ft radius of themselves

Every time.

At bare minimum keep it at least buckled comfortably/loosely.

Not saying anything about the case in question, but I've witnessed some people doing some profoundly dumb things in the weather and it not turning out well.

FAs seated, PAs made, liquid literally getting shaken out of cups on tray tables

That happened one day to me! We're getting our butts kicked, the trainee did all the captain things he should do then said "I'm going to call and have them take their jumpseats, but want to do a bathroom break?"

Really, bro? Ha!
People, amirite???
