Not going so well. For now, NMB mediation has stopped and there are no dates scheduled going forward. The SPC, MEC Chair and a few other pilots (including some from other ALPA carriers... thanks guys!) picketed the Investor Day meeting in New York at the Waldorf Astoria as well as had meeting space directly down the hall from Hawaiian Airlines to talk to investors about what's going on. HAL ALPA also launched a new website and web ads campaign today. http://halpilotcontract.com/

A friend at your shop showed me your proposed payrates. I don't know what the rest of the sections look like but personally I thought you guys could do an awful lot better than that. Particularly with first year pay. I hope you either ask for more or vote it down if you end up voting on those numbers.

Out of curiosity, when did you guys start talking to the NMB? And when did you ask to start talking with them?

I was there. There is a lot of great unity in the ranks (that I could see). Was happy to support my Brothers and Sisters at HAL.

First year pay is something a company needs to bring up on their own without charging a union negotiating capital. It's one way you attract quality applicants. If those are the only numbers you saw, you didn't actually see any changes.

We started talking with the nmb in December of last year, 2 months after our amendable date. Our negotiations were set up to be done on the amendable date or to go in front of the nmb right away.

so what is the next step going forward? Forgive me as I don't come from a unionized carrier and know all the details of the process.

Is there a chance for arbitration?

What is the likelihood of being released to strike from the NMB?

He's going to get you a great deal. It'll be yooj. Nobody makes better deals than he does. Hawaiian pilots will love it.
