Hawaiian Airlines hiring

Flying in the islands might get boring over time, but don't forget Hawaiian also flies to the US west coast, Manila, Tahiti, American Samoa, and Sydney. There are likely more destinations to come.

Until you've seen the style of interisland flying, you won't understand why guys love it. The visual approaches they do in the 717 are wild! Think flying into DCA on the river visual 19 except over the most beautiful landscape you can dream of (and no one to shoot you down).

One interisland captain I spoke to while jumpseating home recounted what his day was like:
  1. Have breakfast and drop the kids off at school in the morning
  2. Hit the beach (surf & paddle canoe)
  3. Report for a 1 pm show
  4. Last flight blocks in at 8:30 pm
  5. Pau hana! (done with work! <-- if you can even call it that)
I don't doubt it can be an amazing lifestyle/flying. However, only speaking for myself, almost everything has gotten boring in a way or another after doing it for a while.

I haven't gotten bored with the martinin glasses you got me for Christmas and haven't broken one yet.

I have a friend that works at Hawaiian. He's on the 767.

He was furloughed, went to Cactus, and is back to Hawaiian since he loves the company so much.

It's total internal reccs. As I understand it, they only basic crew the planes on the longhaul. With the DC-10s, they'd do turns, and life was good...home every day. Now, there is a required layover. From what I understand, they will run the 330s the same way.

I can find out more info if needed.

Sounds like the guy on Airliners.net. HAL is his screen name if I'm not mistaken.

Well I was just told that Megan Fox was born a man, try getting that out of your head.

I'll buy that. She does have burly tats in old English at that. ...and why would a woman get a picture of Marilyn on the forearm? :D

Sorry to bomb the thread topic.

What is the best way to send a resume to Hawaiian?
There is a cut and paste app on their website, but would a faxed or mailed resume send a better impression?

Also I only have 900tt, but I have two close relatives who are f/o's on the 76, and my dad used to fly with Hawaiian for about 15 years, do you think they would even look at my resume? Or could I 'sneak' in with that amount of time.

Anybody who is currently at Hawaiian I would appreciate some help... thanks in advance.

The Minimum times they have on the web site is 1500 TT or 1000 TPIC.

Those are like regional minimums. I really doubt it when you have people with a lot more part 121 experience and a lot more total time. Try it and see what happens.

But as we all know, if ya got someone on the inside, minimums don't always necessarily mean anything. With that said...

...go for it!!! All they can do is tell you no. Good luck!

meh...just got off the phone with my uncle. He says they just hired a class, half were ex-aloha pilots, the other half off the street guys with internal recs.
He did say the minimum were 1500TT ATP and Turbine time and they probably wont hire with less.
