Handheld GPS (Garmin vs. Lowrance)

Why does the Lowrance come with a remote antenna? You dont always need to set that thing up do you?

i dunno about lowrance but the built in one works just fine in a cessna with me

I have a 2000C and it works great. Big color screen, easy to read. You can find them for around $700-$800 on the right sites. Bought mine for $750. iPilot.com has it for $799 once you put it in the cart.

I have a Garmin 296.......Same great one as the 396 and 496 except doesnt have the weather capabilities....Pretty expensive for the weather from what I hear........But the 296 is a great unit and a good bang for the buck
