I was browsing weather earlier today at work, and was amazed at the conditions in So Cal. We never get weather systems like this. I am tempted to get up in it, but a everything I have acess to just isn't equiped to handle this. Everyone was complaining of Ice, LLWS and turb.

Be carefull out there boys and girls. Wish I had the equipment to be up there with ya'.

Personally, I'd consider yourself lucky that you don't have to deal with this kind of stuff on a regular basis. New experience it sounds like, but trust me, not worth it :)

While I feel sorry for those people near the burn areas in risk of mudslides, I find this whole thing comical in relation to what goes on in other parts of the country. From the news coverage out there you'd think it was Armageddon. Breaking news, RAIN!

Yeah, no doubt. But there is some stuff going on that makes it interesting. So Cal is just not built for this kind of stuff. So even though other areas think it's nothing, for us, it's enough to take notice. Sink holes, mud slides, and flooding. Al because we aren't setup to deal with it. Not enough drainage, and to many people littering/dumping stuff whever clogging everything up and backing up the water.

I don't! These morons know what they are doing.

Realtor: This is a great piece of land to build a house on.

Buyer: What about that big hill there, do you have to worry about mudslides?

Realtor: It is rare.

Buyer: How rare.

Realtor: Well there is a park up the road for the kids to play on and room for a swimming pool.

Buyer: A swimming pool and a park!?!? We'll take it.......

We had hail in Long Beach, if I could have packed my car and stayed dry I would have moved! Blaaahh!

To be fair there were cars in the water up to their windows yesterday and probably today. It was quite a sight. Here is Socal were a bunch of weenies!

I'm full of sympathy right up till they go back and rebuild their dreamhome on a faultline/firebreak/cliff and jack up everyone's insurance rates. "So it burned down, fell over and sank into the swamp...and I built it again!"

Love that movie. I'm hoping all the tinder will burn, all the mud will slide, and all the tectonics will...tectonic...before OKC finally comes through with a date for me to start up pushing tin above the high desert. Oh, and a budget for the state would be nice too.

Which is why we have Natural Hazard Reports and buyers are encouraged to further investigate potential hazards as well.

Instead of "Bad" weather, shouldn't this be considered "Badly Needed" weather since Cali has such a huge water deficit? Granted you probably didn't need it all at once.....

There is more than we know what to do with! I've got a container outside collecting water. So far I'd estimate We've got 4-5" of water in 4 days. We won't get rain like that from April to October for 10 years combined.
