Had my private pilot checkride today.

And boy was it a great feeling to get that certificate in my hand :). Now I can finally take my family up and my friends, this is great! Go PIC's! :nana2: I can fairly say I have been waiting for this , for a VERY long time. But it finally paid off.
 
Congrats Captain phil! tell us more about it! how was it? how was the oral? whatr kind of questions did u get? im about to take my checkride :)
any advices?
 
Thanks everyone. And to AirAlgerie, my advice is study your POH. Know your V-speeds especially,study from the oral exam book, know where to find FAR questions if you don't know them(and who knows all of them?) and most importantly know how to fly the plane. I would say passing the oral would be important but I did crappy on that and still passed. The examiner will be berrating you with questions and will be seeing what you know or don't know. If he senses that you don' know something, he will dig into the question deeper. So my advice is, if you do not understand something, tell him you are not sure. As for the flying part, if your instructor says you are ready, than you definately are ready.Best of luck and if I can do it, you can do it!
