Gulfstream Intl Airlines Is Now Silver Airways

You never, EVER, want to work for a company that expects you to put work before family matters. It never ends well, trust me. You don't just quit these jobs, you go back and slash some tires.

I think this is inconsistent with your eco-nutbaggery. If you slash tires, more will have to be produced consuming resources, and notably, petrochemical resources. Further, the tires that have been slashed present a challenge with disposal - they won't biodegrade. Maybe a large stack of tires will catch on fire, fouling the air with dense black smoke. I don't feel it is consistent for you to advocate slashing of tires and being against off-shore drilling. You should recant. Spandex is also largely derived from petrochemicals. You should recant spandex as well.

Yeah, as for the excerpt from APC, that's not how it happened. I saw parts of the guys training firsthand. They had understandable reasons for letting him go, and it was not for him going home.

Are they still hiring street captains? What is the starting pay and hour guarantee? Are they hiring for Florida? I need work!!!

Us "old timers" post over and over again the problems with Gulfstream, Great Lakes, etc but it seems some of the kids just have to learn for themselves. The problem would correct itself if they didn't get applicants.

A reputable company will work with you for serious family events and realize you aren't safe to fly if you have a big problem at home. You have to put family first you only get one There will always be another job.

It's gotten to the point that I try not to be baited in to posting. It's pointless. Inevitably the same people will be back in six months bitching and moaning about how tough they have it and how "no one told them". These are the same people who, a few years down the track, will expect and exhort whatever company is undergoing negotiations to "take one for the profession" by going on strike but will themselves vote for every steaming concessionary pile that's plopped on their plate because "I have kids to feed". Screw em.

I want to live in Fort Lauderdale and fly for Silver Airways. Seriously, as a retirement type of gig. Get to fly airplanes, and on my days off I live in South FLA. And, I will never let family interfere with my job. Gulley will get me on with them.

In his case, the company did work with him, and gave him ample time off. There's holes in his story, and he is using the death as an excuse for why he was let go.

Is it perfect no. Is it getting better after getting splinters from scraping the bottom of the barrel yes. It works for me is what counts for me. I have a lot of time and need to get the hell out of the Van and into a real airplane so I can have a life/career so I am going to get TPIc **Multi** which is better than going to go fly the 99. Yes they are hiring Captains, my wisdom is if there is a quick upgrade or DEC's then it is most likely a crappy place, it can be a good crappy place but still expect some crap.

1900 vs. 99? Well, you get a type with the 1900, but for the pay difference of 99 PIC vs. 1900 SIC I'd think you could just go buy a much more useful type.

Well I guess good thing I am not going as an SIC:cool: if it was that choice of course I would take the 99 I am retarded not dumb.
