Position Description


POSITION/ PURPOSE: The role is a dual-purpose one, comprising mainly of: Effective training of customer flight crews in the safe and efficient operation of large commercial airplanes or other aerospace products or systems by providing accurate technical information through the use of state-of-the-art procedures, training equipment and methods. Advising the Head of Flight Training on all matters of EASA Regulatory Compliance, as well as SMS and Quality matters. RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct flight crew training of customer pilots to include fixed-base simulator (and/or other flight training devices), academic/computer-based training and part-task trainer phases of training at local and remote sites. Maintain a high level of technical knowledge.

Conduct thorough briefings prior to each training session to include a detailed discussion of performance expectations. Conduct thorough debriefings and critiques at the conclusion of each training session, to include a detailed discussion of the trainees performance followed by a brief outline of the training events of the next session.


Perform administrative duties relative to training such as preparing for the delivery of training, record keeping, monitoring customer progress, training development and maintenance of training programs.

Prepare the appropriate training area, briefing room and simulator in readiness for the upcoming training session. Use advanced software to catalog configuration data, perform task analysis, record and track training accomplishments, and develop curriculum materials and computer-based training. Assist as required in keeping all publications used in training current. Support EASA regulatory compliance by, where necessary, liaising with the competent authority

Ensure compliance with quality and safety management systems and their requirements. Manage the electronic training system Interface with overseas departments as necessary

AUTHORITY LEVELS: Measure a pilots progress through objective and subjective evaluation and document performance by accurately completing all required reports and records in sufficient detail to allow third-party evaluation. Supervision of all regulatory, safety and compliance matters consistent with relevant Regulatory Authority approvals under the Head of Training.

Typical Education/Experience


Aircrew experience, flight instructor certificate, or any national agency equivalent is desired; however, education or work experience appropriate to the level of responsibility will substitute for these credentials. Extensive experience in Regulatory matters, SMS, and compliance processes. JAA TRI Core Course Certificate is desirable but an equivalent Instructional Technique Course would be acceptable. Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English fluently; be able to communicate clearly and accurately using both verbal and written communications. Conversant with MS based computer systems including Office.
