“H.R.915 relies on the time-tested system of funding that has served our nation well during good and difficult times: aviation fuel taxes, ticket taxes, and a healthy contribution from the general tax fund,” said AOPA President Craig Fuller. “This is the best way to pay for the nation’s aviation system without stifling general aviation and introducing a costly new bureaucracy.”

Hope it gets passed in the Senate

I was reading up on that last night. It appears that most of the House Aviation Subcommittee is in agreement (incl. John Boccieri? ;)); the current revenue is insufficient to keep the trust fund funded, but that they prefer the current system of an excise tax over supplemental user fees.

I saw talk of a fuel excise tax increase from 21.8¢/gal to 35.9¢/gal (up 65%) for GA jet fuel and an avgas increase from 19.3¢/gal to 24.1¢/gal (up 25%).

I haven't had time to read up on it, but that is the general jist. No user fees, just increase the current tax. Not the greatest outcome, but it could be much worse. Well, I have to wait to make that decision...if the money will ACTUALLY stay with the FAA.
