Some people on here sound like they think they are so much better than everyone else. I'm happy I work at Lakes.
Just out of curiosity, how hard is it to hold PHX as a base?

Some people on here sound like they think they are so much better than everyone else. I'm happy I work at Lakes. I wish I made more money but don't we all? Mainly I blame the union, yes people come and go within 3-4 years here or sooner if they aren't shooting for a major. The Teamsters magazine I get says how proud they are that they fought for $25,000 salary for Parking Garage employees, meanwhile they represent good 'ol GLA. I have a feeling that come next negotiation period what with the pilot shortages at all regionals Great Lakes will get better representation from Teamsters or the pilots will go elsewhere. I work at Lakes and own a 2000 sq foot house and drive a nice car, I'm typing this up on a nice Apple laptop. I budget and am living better than I did when I went to College. As long as I get to a major and start collecting job security a few years before people I graduated with/flight instructed with, I'll be happy with my choice.
I loved working at Great Lakes it's more like a Frat. then an airline. Where else are you going to fly with senior Capts. that are 24 years old. Lot of crazy overnights and who could not for get the lakes air dodgeball team. I upgraded in 8 months got 1400 PIC Turbine and got into a major all my college buddies are still at regionals. But yes the pay really sucks you have to learn budgeting. The training is really tough and I know my flying skills will never be the same as when I worked there.
Just they have a high wash rate basically do it right the first time in the sim. kind of thing, but as I was leaving thier pass rate was going imporving. Just work hard and you will do fine I miss the Beech its like a little sports car man. Let me know if you have anymore ??
