GPS database updates.... pilot or maintenance item?

In our 135 is a pilot item, we have to update the cards, write up the discrepancy as database needing update, and under corrective action write that the current database installed. I dont have my FOM right in front of me but i recall there being a little sipnit in it for the GPS updates, and apprently out POI is cool with it since its been this way forever.

I saw, once upon a time, a gps update that came with a sticker. Inserting the sticker in the log book satisfied corrective action write ups.

Put card in, update, put sticker in log, sin and date, call it good ...

Were there any instructions if the sins should be mortal or was venial good enough?

?

The sticker /pack was provided by the operator. The card was put in the fly kit before the effective date, then the pilots put it in if the plane was on the road.

It wasn't a garmin thing.

You used the word "sin" instead of "sign" in your first post.
