Government shutdown

It passed 335-91, so by this logic, there are a whole bunch of Russian friends both R and D, in the House.

Sounds like some compromise, which people have been talking about here, was done. At least to buy time to wrangle over stuff some more, without punishing the American public in the process.

Only 1 no vote was a Dem, and he voted no becuase the CR cuts funding Ukraine by $6b becuase that was what got the republicans to agree

Good. Now remove the entire thing.

Doesn’t make me “garbage” for saying that. Ukraine isn’t NATO, we don’t owe them jack.

Kept their airspace opened above FL320 just to collect overflight fees March 2014, despite knowing they lost their own AN-22 at FL220 that was hit by a SAM. That same SAM could easily hit an airliner at FL330. All about collecting $$$.
Yeh don't give them any money cause they did something I disagree with 9 years ago. Maggot

Actually, that part was in the first sentence.

Don’t give them money because it isn’t our business, nor are they NATO. Love seeing European countries refuse military equipment for Ukraine, yet here we are pumping them full.

Maggot? It tells me I’m holding onto a ”controversial” opinion. So many pro-Ukrainian people here.

You need to understand. But first you need to listen.

The “wahawk” during a R administration only to become a “Neville Chamberlain”-style of appeaser during a D administration is a great comedy bit.

But go on. It’s hilarious and I love it!

“Hitler invades Poland in effort to create a new Reich? So many pro Poland and Anti-Fascist elements around the coffee house…”

The thing is, you can vote on the facts democratically. As long as the majority agrees! Then it's true //

Ps it's one thing to worry about what government does with money for solutions and something else to be part of the solution, with no monetary help from the government. But that's in reality

Unfreeze the gubby, tell THEM to get back to work!!

so the takeaway here is that the shutdown was avoided by the Democrats compromising. To avoid an unnecessary and stupid shutdown.

I'm not a huge fan of the DNC but by God they seem like the only responsible adults in the room these days.

It’s 2023, not 1940s. This is a European problem. The idea that Russian tanks will roll across Paris? Stop playing so much Call of Duty.

Weren’t you a big advocate of military action against ISIS? Were you worried about the US becoming part of the Caliphate?

Not that I recall. I was never for the Iraq or Afghan wars. I may have said since we invaded and installed a government, it was our responsibility too in terms of what instability follows. And in that sense, to take action against ISIS (perhaps).

But moot point. Nothing was gonna change. Look at the Afghan withdrawal. The whole country fell in less than a month. And now we’re dealing with… the Taliban? What a joke.

ENTIRELY different animal. We didn’t attack, invade, and then install a government in Russia or Ukraine. The instability that led to ISIS was 100% US driven.

I don’t work for IOU’s.

Then you need to go through your post history because you were a big advocate for military action against ISIS and I used to ask if you were therefore willing to enlist which was always met with silence

Ok, again, I addressed that in the “may have said” and that I don’t recall.

Regardless. ISIS was formed after a *direct* invasion and installation of a new “government” by using US military power. So, we have a stake in it directly. When that country starts to fall apart, we have a responsibility for it. Fact: ISIS would not have formed under Saddam Hussein’s reign of power.

We have done no such invasion and changing political regime in Russia or Ukraine. So it’s not the same thing.
