Finally, my luck may be turning around!!! I got a call from Airnet for an interview later this month!!!! I can't stop shaking I'm so excited. I think I'm going to be a nervous wreck until my interview date.

Anyway, good luck to anyone else headed for an interview. This industry is really starting to turn around for the better. Keep your heads down and your time will come. Without this website I wouldn't be where I am today....thank you Doug.

About time, Braid. See, you didn't have to fly out on your dime. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You work at Horizon?

Yes, I work at Horizon. I was surprised, Zeke actually wished me good luck.

Very cool. Glad to hear it's going well. When's the interview? Keep in touch...I'll probably stop by there one more time before I leave for the South, where they actually have summers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif 63 degrees right now. That's BS!!!!

I plan on finally starting my PPL shortly, do you recommend Horizon, or should I check out other schools first? I've flown a few times from there before (with S.B., and back in the day S.M., J.M., and J.A.) and thought it was okay, but a guy I went to high school with worked at the desk for a little while (R.K.) and didn't care for the place. Last I knew he was going to train in Richmond; haven't heard from him in ages.

Is the SIC program back at Airnet yet?

According to their website it isn't. Check out Airnet.com for details and email them for more info.

Joe,

Find yourself a place you like with an instructor you like. Those of us that have worked or are working there are going to have a different perspective and different reasons for liking or not liking a place than a student will. What do you want to do with your training? Airlines the goal? Then get a good base education with a school that can train you all the way up. If it's purely because you just like to fly and you want to stay away from the jobs in aviation, then find a more laid back school with easier policies.

Do your research and good luck whatever you decide. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bandit.gif

Its not per se, but they are hiring with mins. now of 1000TT and 100 ME (though maybe less multi?). This according to their pilot recruitment hotline.

I've heard that with the sub-1200 guys they will either get hired and go into a pool until they reach 1200, or they'll go out on the line as an SIC until they get the right amount. Not sure which is true.

congratulations man, good luck with Airnet, I heared about them on the ERAU website, they said they had post-graduation hiring opportunities with them, but good luck
