Got scheduled

Where did you hear that the 717 deal is dead?

From what I understand George M said that the deal isn't as solid as originally thought, and they were starting to look at other options (737-500s).

I am sure upgrades at Chicago Express are faster than in COEX. Isn't PIC in Chic Express more important than SIC in COEX? You will be stuck as an FO for another 4 years, though flying a fancy ERJ. Hmm...

Not if CE is out of business, and now the regional market is flooded with 500 CE resumes.

Matt, if you can get on somewhere that has a stronger likelihood than CE of being around when you get to upgrade time, then you should for-sure jump at it. The commute from Chi-town to any of XJT's three bases would suck ... but then I commute from IAH to CMH so who am I to talk about a crummy one. Any commute is a trade-off, I guess.

Of course, you could always ditch the snow and move to Houston. It ain't the fourth-largest city in the USA for nothing ... a lot of us like it down there pretty well.

Good luck with the final interview and the decision.

Only word of caution would be the contract negotiations there that are liable to get ugly before it is all over. You could wind up in the VERY untenable position of having your pilot group go on strike while you're still on probation ...
