My FBO just bought our twin yesterday and it will be here on Wednesday. I am pretty jacked up to get started on my Multi training. We got a Twin Comanche with Robertson STOL Kit and Miller Speed Mods with Long Range Tanks. It needs an update on some of the instruments, but thats no big deal, and we will be adding a GPS with Moving Map at some point. Its a nice looking plane and I will post some pictures once we get it in. I am just glad to be getting started on the Multi-time soon. I have a couple pics I will post now though.

Pretty Nice. The rate will be $150 an hour wet for this plane for those wanting some twin time, shoot me a PM.
 
Damn I wish I knew your school was looking for one. My old flight school just closed down and had a clearance on everything including their aircraft. They had a pretty sweet Dutchess twin in the fleet they are selling. Nice ride though, love the wood panel. :)
 
In the interest of keeping costs down, a Duchess or seminole was not a realistic option for us. We also do not go the raggedy ass Apache route, we felt this was the most plane for the money, it is the most efficient twin at 15-16 GPH and Cruises at 160-165 KTS. Pretty solid in my book. There are some disadvantages that have been noted with this aircraft such as High Vmc, and high speeds on Approach plus a tendancy to float on landing. This will be a more challanging plane than most schools use, however my CFI has 800 Hours in Type and 2000 hours Dual Given, so I am confident that things will go well.

I just can't wait to fly it, and do some XC at 200mph for a change. :rawk:
 
pretty sweet considering the price... I think the twin at my school is around $220 an hour or something. It is a new seminole though. I still think the seminole is probably the best training multi out there considering how forgiving it is, but if you can learn to fly in the twinkie you will be doing pretty good. 200mph does sound pretty good though!
 
Not a bad price for ME time. I learned in a Seneca IV (PA 34-220T) it was a nice plane with no critical engine. But it was 200+ and hour.

Sounds like you should have no problem and an experienced instructor definatley helps alot.
