Took my checkride this morning and it went great. Can't wait to hit the line.

Good luck in training Doug....it's been a sweet sim to "fly". Now onto IOE and see what the real thing is like.

I wasn't drunk. Just an honest typo!

So will you be flying to all sorts of durka-durkastans and llamabads? I know you dudes fly the troops around a ton. I assume that's what CRAF is.

How's that work anyway? Do you fly in to a base and pick them up or do they show up at an airport for a normal charter?

Depends on what type of unit and where the unit is deploying from. Most NG and reserve units go to a major Army installation for 6 months of predeployment training and then they deploy for a year. Most of the large Army bases have airfields. If not they get bussed to an AFB or to an airfield that can accomidate large a/c. For the Navy and Marines, they usually take the slow boat ride. If not they leave the from a Naval Air Station, Marine Corps Air Station, AFB or the nearest airfield cabable of handling large a/c.

Congrats. I'm assuming CRAF is what OAI does? My friend and I spent a lot of time at TUL flying in and out. I'm over at Stillwater (OSU). Still love the airport over there. I know the Seargent that is head of the ANG F-16 base there.

I also have a friend that works for OAI - although he is not a pilot.

I see OAI here at LAS. I think its a daily flight to Hawaii on the DC-10. The 75s are here a lot also.
