Not fired, but furloughed.:(


Officially got the news. Time to start looking for new work. I was sat down by the boss and told that he hates that part of his job, and he doesn't want to do it, but he had no other choice with how tight things are. He gave me enough of a severance package to get me through to the end of the year, and he'd write me a letter of recommendation as well as forwarding my resume to everyone he knows. He also told me I could use his airplane to take my ATP ride. I can't blame him really. He needs to look out for his business, and sometimes you have to make tough choices as a business owner. So, the job hunt continues.

So if anyone knows of any operators looking for someone with a current PA31 PIC 8410 and a LR-31 SIC 8410, please pass the info along.

I know you were looking forward to Lear school.

Wish I had some leads to toss your way right now.

Thanks man. And to think, I didn't want to talk to anyone, or even attend the Career Expo so someone who didn't have a job could get one. Looks like I shot myself in the foot, again! At least my boss is a good enough guy to give me a severance package to get me by for a little while until I can hopefully find more work. Thing is, my wife is semi-established in her endeavors here, so a move out of state would be a last resort at this point in my career. I'm not saying I wouldn't do it, but it would have to be enough to support a family on a single income.

There's a guest bedroom with a private bath. Unless you just want to sleep on the couch! Too bad there aint diddly in Tally-ho.
 
Some jobs may soon be available in Bakersfield, CA. I already know what you think of Bakersfield but it is close to LA plus the pay and bennies are very good.
 
Not very good news at all. You are one very though person though, I hope that you can find something soon.

Don't know if it's something that could work for you, but... USA Jet (thread)
we're hiring and it's more or less a commutable job (check with cleardforoption, he commutes from SoCal)

This is a total downer. I'll put my ear to the ground like the rest of the folks here. Hopefully with a little collective effort from the JC family we can turn this around ricky-tick.
