Today I was on final approach with a student of mine. We were coming in for our final landing of the day and there were thunderstorms within 15 miles of the airport. We approached 100' AGL and all of the sudden a huge burst of wind started to toss us around like a rag doll. we immediately lost 15 knots and gained about 100'. the stall warning horn came on and the aircraft began to buffet. I took the controls and went around. We came back for our full stop landing and had no further problems. It shook me up a bit. this was the first time I have experienced such a strong gust. I think the hardest part is staying calm and collected in front of the student. I would like to hear of some of your experiences.
