Got a GPS II

Hey; I was very lucky and got given a Garmin GPS II today

Dunno if I can use it for aviation though; just from a quick search it sounds like there is a 90kt limit on the unit; is there any way to bypass this?

I guess if I get lost I can set it up for slow flight

but I'd rather not

I once had one of these that had the 90K limit. Never figured out how to get around it. And yes, I do own a 152. I can't remember what happen if you exceeded 90K. Does it blank out the screen or does it just top out at 90K no matter what your ground speed is?

The Garmin site says it'll stop giving position and speed information

Fly a cub. A 152 is too fast if there is a bit of tail wind
