Goodbye FSDOs - Lets make things more confusing

We had a guy from the region come into our flight school in Denver about a month ago and pretty much informed us that the region was taking over the Denver FSDO's DPE program due to mismanagement of it among other things, but sounds like its nationwide.

At least Bob what's his face is gone nowadays.

Just walked in and renewed my cfi in 20 minutes with an appointment made 1/2 hour prior to that. I can't even remember what city I was in to give proper credit. I've heard a lot of stories of the kinder gentler FSDO attitude towards minor infractions now, too. No complaints here, keep up the good work fellas! (Just in case any of you fellas set off one their internet sensors... Hell, I don't even say the B word on my cell phone anymore, but that's just me. Building 7 and all...)

You're not on call for 24 hrs. Your duty time just doesn't start until you get a trip. Oh, and since you didn't have a trip yesterday, that was your day off.

"Chico and Groucho"

Chico: What'sa matta with me? I'm hungry. I didn't eat in a three days.

Groucho: Three days? We've only been on the boat two days.

Chico: Well, I didn't eat yesterday, I didn't eat today, and I'm not gonna eat tomorrow...that makesa three days.

LOL, I still remember my CFII ride. I showed up on the FAA ramp a few minutes before my appointment time and got read the riot act about being on the ramp early and not at the exact appointed time.

Do people still fly with the FSDO these days for CFI/II? I got DPEs but this was FL after all

I flew a couple of times with them for Medical Flight Tests, so did my share...

The last I heard was that a fed must do one of the CFI rides and the CFII can no longer be done first. This can be waived by the FSDO allowing a DPE to do it.
