Re: Good Morning - I'm new and have my first Regional interv

Interview went great - made it through Written Exam, Sim Eval, and Hr/Tech Interview, but when they where calling people back for the good/bad news, they where upfront (which I really appreciate) and said even though I have the total time needed, 17 hours of Multi Engine, is not going to cut it, but I have the job once I hit 100 hours. Now I just need to find $15,000... My flight school has no need or the students for me to get my MEI. I do find it surprising that they would bring be down there, I was completely upfront with my times.

My flight school is the same way. I got my MEI recently and I am now looking for other instruction jobs that I can at least have a chance at multi time. As soon as I had my CFII and MEI, I started getting calls from other schools where I can instruct and get multi time. Just something for you to think about rather then spend 15,000

Time to find a flight school that needs an MEI. They are out there.

What airline did you apply for? Did you really think you'd get a job with 17 hours of multi?

Stranger things have happened. I'm sure the airline didn't fly him out there just for the heck of it.

To protect myself and any prospective employers out there, I will not be naming this firm, nor any others that are of interest until I have a class date. Thank you all for your insight, and support!

He sent in a resume and they called him. In my book, getting a phone call pretty much says they think you're qualified for their job.

Very smart decision.

They must have misread the 17 for 170.

I'll give you an 'A' for effort man, keep up the persistence. When I made such hiring decisions I would get annoyed at times with applicants who didn't meet the requirements, but the persistent, professional and nice ones almost always got the job.
