GoJet Incident

You know aloft you really have no clue what you are talking about here.

Hate to be so negative but you really don't. It is quite obvious WHY GOJET was created. Why do you defend them and those that went there?

Members on here might be losing their jobs because of them and their growth and you still sit here and type what you feel is right. Well sometimes we are wrong, like you are here.

sigh

[modhat]Keep it CIVIL. This is the only warning before the lock goes on.[/modhat]

Completly over the line!!!

I'm sorry, smokey, but your foot was over the line. That's a foul.

Am I the only one who gives a #### about the rules. Mark it zero.

Sorry..
Back to the story.

Sanjay, huh?
personally would have asked to see his green card and then expected to be put on another flight.

<-------- doesn't expect anyone to agree with last statement

Thats hilarious. Say it slow in case he doesn't understand Engrish.
True the guy acted like a grade A D. but I don't understand the difference between places like GoJ and Colgan. Both do it for less than others and neither are Union. As a person that doesn't come from a 121 background to me their both the same. They undercut and do it without Union representation. The fall back position of "Yeah, well Colgan wasn't created as an alter ego..." doesn't really hold much water now does it, especially after they've voted once or twice for no union.
I'm asking because I don't know.

GoJet's is Teamsters, actually. I'd recommend you do a little bit of reading on the GoJet v. TSA fiasco before you comment further because it's obvious you don't know what went on.

Kinda like how everybody bags on Mesa and then when you ask them if they remember the Freedom A listers they look at you cross eyed and say, "The EMB-145 pilots that fly for Delta?" They have no idea what Mesa had to give away to contain Freedom, and how TSA wasn't able to contain GoJets.

If it's any consolation(to the tsa guys) Gojet pilots aren't allowed in the xj jumpseats. I believe it has more to do with the lack of a reciprical js agreement.

Not going to get into that argument again. Suffice to say, I do have a clue what I'm talking about. I know what went down there because I've done my homework on the subject--you know, due diligence and all. And what I found is that the TSA/ALPA party line on GoJet is only about 30% accurate. The rest is b.s., innuendo and spin.

And for the record, what I'm defending here is not GoJet at all. What I'm defending is the truth, in the face of widespread, widely-accepted ALPA propaganda. (Again, simply because something is widely accepted as being true doesn't mean it actually is; e.g., Saddam and bin Laden being in cahoots regarding the 9/11 attack.)

Oh please. PROVE that the TSA furloughs have ANYTHING to do with GoJet. I double dog dare you.

Seriously, I'd tread lightly if I were you, Mark; Colgan was purchased specifically to whipsaw against the Pinnacle labor groups, and that means you and your fellow pilots are very likely to find themselves on the receiving end of some very harsh accusations before all is said and done. Most of it will be untrue, but that won't matter. Before too long, all the college kids and clueless first-year FOs on the board will be calling every pilot who accepted employment at Colgan post-purchase a "scab". And who will come to your defense then?

I will.

So back off already, or do your freaking homework on the subject.

Pipe down man. This is about the situation described in the first post, not anything else.

That battle's been fought in other threads ad nauseum. I'm sure our readers don't want to roll their eyes thru yet another one.

I know you feel like you're answering the question, but you're not.

You'll thank me later, when you're able to look back at this chapter in your career. If not, I'll gladly buy you a round of bevvies.

While we're on the subject of "truth," I have to point out a MAJOR difference in Go Jets vs Colgan. The Colgan guys already existed, were bought and didn't ASK for it. 90% of the Pinnacle guys know this and accept it. Go Jets, on the other hand, was created out of thin air and every pilot chose to work there after the fact. Not trying to add fuel to the fire, just trying to clarify.

Another thing about Colgan. There WILL be a union on property by fall '08. Most likely ALPA. A small possibility of Teamsters. Either way, we will be represented.

I could be wrong......but I don't think so. Enough people have realized the error they made by not voting last year. Many of the 50.5% will be on board this time around.

Why can we not allowed our emotions to be exposed?

These are serious issues that must be address and discussed, unfortunately these issues are not going to be discussed in a civilized maner because of the overall negative economic standing that it puts people and their families.

Let's be real about it instead of trying to tell people to pipe down and calm down. We should be angry, pissed off, and ready to fight for what we believe in.

Not to be too *technical*, but weren't several guys that showed up for TSA interviews and ultimately hired put in Go Jet classes by TSA management without their knowledge until they showed up for indoc?

Not that i doubt the veracity of jetsgowhee version, but I would love to hear the other side of the story. Specifically what type of treatment Sanjay has had to put up with. What turns a tool into a tool?
If I was a captain, and some dead header flipped me off, I would probably not feel like giving him a ride. Maybe he felt the same way about the badge holder and stickers.

A lot of pettiness in this industry.

Agreed, but isn't it also true that every pilot who accepts employment at Colgan post-acquisition is guilty of the same thing? How's that any different? It's like the Freedom A-list in reverse, kinda. Those pilots have to know they're going to be whipsawed against Pinnacle at some point, and if they don't realize that, they haven't done their homework. Guilt by ignorance is still guilt.
