Going to Upgrade

I guess it's my turn as another XJT pilot. Just got awarded ONT/CA. I should be going to upgrade in late April. I just can't wait to be able to drive to work.
 
Congrats man! You'll have fun in upgrade training, it's a blast. Half our class got hobby for the sims, which wasn't too bad....especially for the commuters (a week in the hampton......oh yeah).

Congrats! You must be a G53xx or so? Looks like about 9-10 more months or so for me. JC is about to have several more XJT CA's in the next year!
 
I'm jealous man, I wish I could work close to home and be flying the jet. I'd have to go to either SLC and sit reserve or go to ORD to hold a line. Rats. Enjoy ONT! Maybe you'll see Don flexin his flaps.

Not quite. I'm a G49xx. I bypassed this last bid to aviod EWR.

I know. I've been a senior line holder for a while now. This is going to hurt. On the plus side though, living in base is awesome. I can sit long call forever and I wouldn't care.

Oh man... that makes it soooooooooooooo much easier!

I'm holding out myself 'cause I "just plain don't want no stinkin' reserve again"... and I'm not willing to move to IAH, EWR, CLE, ONT, or SAT... Now... if they opened a PWM domicile... then... yeah... I'd hit that! ;)

The PWM base was closed back in '98 or so.

Honestly you would have a hard time holding PWM/FO.

The worst commute in the CAL systen is probably PWM->EWR.

Most of the PWM guys drive to Portsmouth NH and catch www.cjtrailways.com to BOS and fly from there. 25 bucks round trip and free parking. It is sometimes the only way out of Maine in the summer.

Oh believe me... I've researched it.... we still visit PWM at least twice a year and I get the overnight there as much as I can... so I'm always talking with the staff there about the commute. I know I missed the domicile by a few years too. Most guys in PWM now are taking the Concord Trailways bus direct from Portland to the terminal at Logan.

I completely understand the problem with commuting out of their to EWR... I was just dreaming about www.XJET.Com expanding into East Coast Ops and having a domicile "down east". ;)
