Holy Crap!! I think I started a fire storm or friendly fire incident here!! No i was not talking about taking a paying seat in an aircraft that would pay for the SIC or co-capt or anything like that. If it is single pilot and I can "get in, sit down, shut up, don't touch anything, and enjoy your ride!" then that is what I am looking for!
All I want to do is ride along and not get babysat!! I think if the PIC could manage his cockpit then he should not have a problem setting the rules before the fliught started. In that case there would be no need for babysitting because the SOP would be set before gear up.
Geez people...take a qualude...or a downer...or drink a beer so you don't lose your license. Just chill!!! I think I did say that I don't want to take someone else's paying job and I can't pay for a SIC program!!

And yes I am looking for CFI gigs but I think I am heading back to S.C.!!! If there is anyone instructing at Christiansen at RVS please let me know!
Sounds like the flight schools at RVS are not hiring. I do know a couple of people that have done really well free lancing out of RVS.
There is a guy at TUL that hires low time guys for fire spotting in 152's and 172's I believe. I dont know what the pay is but might be worth checking into.

I worked out of RVS at Roadhouse Aviation for 8 months and flew the Fire Patrol. I wonder which flight school went out of business? Either way the fire patrol gig is a good thing if you barely want to be compensated...I was somewhat related to the guy who owned the company and thats how I got to do it. 3 years ago they were flying it like crazy (9-10 hours a day for months) but last year even in the extreme drought they only flew for about 3 weeks in April of 08'.
I got two jobs flying charter and an aerial photo gig just by working at the FBO.
The flight schools on RVS are Spartan (the largest), Christensen, Riverside and Robertson, there might be one more but not sure.
GL with finding a job I had fun in Tulsa while it lasted checkout the riverwalk in Jenks, OK a kind of suburb 15 min south of tulsa! (just take Riverside Rd. south)

Thanks for the word on schools at RVS. The school that stopped flying was one in bartlesville. None of the ones at RVS and no, none of those at RVS are hiring.

Two of my friends are still instructing at RFC, I'm sure I could get one of them to walk a resume in for you if you want. Just let me know.
Spartan tends to hire their own and I know they laid a bunch of the part timers off about 4-6 months ago and haven't had the business to bring anyone back. I talked to my former instructor about 3 weeks ago and she say the biggest problem is the banks are not lending to students anymore. The loans are hard to come by even with a co-signer.
Another option as mentioned would be to work for an FBO and see what you can get into that way. Christanson Aviation has a lot of transients and you could probably find something by working the line there.
My two cents, Tulsa is not the best place in the world, pack up and move on to better opportunities. T-town is saturated with jobless and soon-to-be jobless pilots. Good luck!
