On final to HKG. We arrived the day after Polar742 got there.

The towers at Chek Lap Kok. We were told that there are two because there are two "lanes".

Our ride to Sydney

Very nice pictures!

I wonder how the olympians are going to feel competing in all that smog?

I can only imagine throwing a javelin, and having it go IFR for about six seconds and then reappearing.

1. How was that beer?
2. How was the Air China flight?

I read heard on one of the news networks that they will limit driving to control the smog.

1. How was that beer?
It was quite good... actually, I haven't had a bad one on this trip.

2. How was the Air China flight?
It was very nice. Not at all different from any of the other legs.

Our guide said the same thing. They will use an odd/even license plate system for "rationing " driving. He also said that the city's entire taxi fleet has been converted to propane.

Great shots man.....

Beijing....alot of the crap in the air is coal soot. You can see it streaking on the ramp/taxiway/runway edges after it rains, and taste it in the air. Ugh...

This will be the first olympics ever where it'll be a contest of attrition. The one that passes out closest to the finish line gets the gold. I wonder if the marathoners are going to pack inhalers?

Great Pics!

I think I also heard they were going to shut down some factories before the games to help the air quality.
