Post it notes seem to be a bit more challenging and it's not recommended to pull the breakers so what's everyone's method of ruining their students day?
Practicing in VMC? Have a handheld GPS or radio with VOR capability you can set up? Wet compass, airspeed and altimeter instrumentation in the aircraft? If yes to all, flip the master switch and have at it.
Just handle the set up for them. No sense in getting them frazzled using equipment they will probably never use again (unless you're teaching them to use their spare radio/handheld GPS). Either way, at least they will experience partial panel work.
