I went to the Fargo Airsho today, and sure enough two UND planes were there. N444ND was there, and I got to see the Avidyne System in there. It looked pretty sweet.

blue angels were pretty freakin sweet eh?
I haven't had a chance to play with the avidyne ones yet, but for whatever reason we have a G1000 trainer in simland that I've been able to tinker with and its a really sweet setup.
I really dont think that using a glass cockpit for initial (both PPL and IFR) training is a good idea at all. It took me quite a while, tinkering around on the g1000 to feel pretty comfortable with it. Its hard enough learning how to shoot a GPS approach, let along learn a panel that has a bigger operating handbook than the rest of the plane, when you first start. That's why I think it would have been ideal to get them in the seminoles because you already have a somewhat solid instrument base (though a little rusty from the time off) so you can spend time learning the panel correctly.
