Glad to help... Did I talk to one of you today...

Man, I should have added that I was a starving pilot on my letter to Discover a few months back when I was trying to get a double charge from an Orlando park & fly lot refunded. ;) It was over a year old so I really wasn't expecting much. I had just noticed it when I decided to go over my statements one day.

That being said, I'm pretty satisfied with my Discover card. I use it everywhere I can to build up the cash back, and pay it off every month so that I have cash back to begin with.

The only problem I have, like someone else mentioned, is that Discover is not accepted everywhere. This is especially true overseas. That was the only reason I kept a Mastercard account when I was still in the Navy.

The reason their not accepted everywhere is because of MasterCard and Visa. They would put in their merchant’s contracts that business that offered Visa and MasterCard products could not be allowed to offer other products. So two years ago Amex and Discover Card got together and sued MC and Visa and won. This open many, many doors for Discover Card, now merchants have the choice of who they want to be able to accept. Now there are banks like G.E Money bank who offers Discover Card, but their issued by G.E not Discover Network.

The thing with your double charge is crappy. Discover Card looses chargeback rights after 180 days from the transaction. Which means discover can’t force the merchant to respond, issue credit, or even contact you. We will however send a letter on your behalf to the merchant to see if the merchant will work with you. In that case it is a hit and miss, some do some don’t.
