Capt. Chaos Well-Known Member Nov 7, 2012 #7 The lakes blow out through a weakness in the ice or work there way under the ice causing it to float. I took these pictures a few years ago in Lituya Bay (home of the worlds tallest tsunami of 1700ft) And this is a few days later.
