Getting to FSA Vero Beach

I plan to be in New York for the Xmas/new year season and Im, planning to make a quick 24-48 hour trip down to Vero beach to have a look at the academy. I dont drive as of now so the option of renting a car is out. My question is: How does one get to Vero Beach from MCO/PBI or MIA, I have had a look at the Greyhound website, and Vero Beach is not even listed in the schedules, but from what I understand, is that they do make a stop there. If there is any other way to get there quickly and somewhat cost effectively I would appreciate it if someone could give me a tip.... or point me in the right direction.

Kind Regards,

Richard Shaw

You can fly from NY to Charlotte or Atlanta, and then from there to KMLB, 40 miles North of Vero, round trip around 200 dollars. In Melbourne they have a relative cheap shuttle service to Vero, or just ask for a ride of anybody going south, I did that one time....there is a company that was supposed to start operating from Newark to Melbourne not sure if that ever happened.....

From Miami to Vero with Greyhound will take you a day, no I'm not joking.

A driver to Vero from MIA or ORL will cost you at least 200 dollars a Taxi 240-260 dollars with tip. if you go to PBI, which is about 100 miles away from Vero you may cut the taxi/driver expenses in half.

Vero has almost no public transportation, you can get a taxi at a fixed rate anywhere east of I95 for 8 dollars, On the beach side you can rent a bicycle and use that to get around www.orchidislandrentals.com, the first 2 months I lived there I was doing that and worked just fine.
