Getting rid of credit inquiries on report

I've never seen a dealer take a CC for an entire car's purchase. A down payment, yes, but not the whole car.
What did that have to do with what I said?

I actually did pay for part of a car on the credit card when my checkbook fell out of my folder I was bringing to the dealership. Still got the same great price.

Next time he should save the 3% fee and negotiate that savings into the car price and pay cash.

Paying cash for everything is overrated. JMHO. As long as you are responsible with spending, it doesn't make any difference and there are incentives with cards that give you a return on your investment.

Absolutely. We charge all of our everyday expenses to our card. However look at the OP, taking big credit hits to shop for a loan that could end up costing him thousands in interest due to higher rates. Or people that take hits to get a cell phone. Just crazy.

That seems to depend on your overall credit and the timing of the inquiries. Because, oddly enough I just moved into an apartment and their credit check, the electric company check, and internet company check were all counted as one. AT&T knows I will never leave them, so I won't ever have a credit check from a cell phone carrier ever again. ;)

This girl is not giving up her unlimited texting and data. :D If I go to another carrier, that won't be the case. Besides, isn't Cricket technically AT&T?
That's exactly why I mentioned it. Att towers for cheap prices.

I wish. Honestly, my cell phone is the bill I really wish I could cut. When, I look at my budget daily on Mint, and see where all the money is going, that definitely stands out.

Why not switch yours and not the unlimited internet?

45 bucks all in a month for 5gb. Satisfies me. 35 if you can make do with 2.5

The 10GB plan would be sufficient, but after all the additional charges, etc. the plan that I have with AT&T because of a corporate discount is nearly the same. It looks like it would be only $2 cheaper a month to move to Cricket. Probably not worth it.

Project Fi seems like a great service. I'm still trying to pull the death grip from my wife's iPhone to save $40 a month.

I haven't heard of that before...will definitely look at it. Good to know I am not alone with that death grip! :bounce:

Don't forget to factor in with cricket you get 10 off a month for second line 20 off third line etc.
So for example 2 lines at 5gb, is 50+40 taxes and fees all included.

They do a 5 dollar discount for autopay, but you can't get the autopay discount and the second line 10 off discount at the same time so for 2 lines it's 90 bucks. Projectfi is fantastic for lower dash users.

I think that Cricket should at the very least give you a free month of service for your loyalty! :D

Lol. I actually just switched from anoter mvno in July due to some good transfer deals, 3 free months. And 50 dollar Amazon gift card. That's the beauty of mvnos. You just hoparound since I only use att mvnos, grab the best deals, no contract. Bam

Total Wireless is a good Verizon MVNO option. $62/month for two lines after taxes. Unlimited talk/text and 8gb of shared data. I switched at the beginning of July, so going on two months now. Got a brand new iPhone 5S from WalMart for $149 as well. Unlocked after 12 months usage, can bring to any carrier here with the antennas it has.

It does pain me to even pay $31/month each for cell service, eventually I hope to get that down further. It's incredible what "we" collectively spend as a nation on just a cell phone.

absolutely agree. take it to britain, france or spain and they most people here would be flabbergasted how cheap wireless service can be (or how ridiculous r*ped we are)

if you do plan to bring that phone to a GSM carrier just know that you will be limited in LTE/3g usage. it does have the antennae, but the LTE bands you have on that will not work fully on ATT towers. just for future reference. 3G will be fine though.

that's a nice MVNO deal for verizon! nice!

I have/make plenty of money. The only thing lowering my score, at least according to credit karma, is the high amount of credit inquiries.

Didn't you say you are carrying a balance on your credit cards? If you have plenty of money, go buy a car with cash and don't worry about what your credit score is. Seriously, a credit score has no correlation to wealth. Being deeply in debt has a direct correlation to negative wealth.
