Getting Married and flying

[ QUOTE ]
Messy germy slobbery nasty hairy messes, and vet bills, and poop to shovel

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, if your kid has a lot of hair, and you replace "vet" with "doctor," I don't see a whole lot of difference. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nah, we don't have any germy slobbery hairy messes or poop to shovel. Dr bills yes, but no poop to shovel. And my kid doesn't smell bad or shed. I'd much rather clean up toy messes than hairy slobber messes. Plus he can look up at me with his big brown eyes and say "wuuuuv you momma". Yesterday he started saying "yee haw" after everything and then laughing at how funny he thinks he is. Can a dog do that? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Mike, you're my kind of guy.

I live on a 10 acre farm with 5 horses, have two dogs and a cat that have the run of the house. If I'm not out mending the fence, mowing, or weed eating, it doesn't get done.

I've been slobbered on, gotten hair (horse and dog) covering every inch of me (ever body clip a horse? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ), had to clean up accidents in the house and clean stalls on a twice-daily basis, called the vet out for a colicking horse at 2am, been stepped on, bitten, kicked, crushed in a trailer, you name it.

And I can't fathom having a kid. *shudder*

You want to talk about messed up.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I can dig that! 10 acres? Very nice. Horses and cats, cool.......

No kids? The best! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bandit.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You have kids Mike? I assume not. If not, then you have no idea what you're missing. And, since you don't even know what you're missing, how can you determine you feelings of having children of your own? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Trust me man, there is nothing that can describe what one feels when you have a child of your own. Besides, it's not about YOU anymore, it's about the child. That's the whole point, and it's one of the most amazing experiences in life. You have no idea Mike. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You can't complain about that..

I have clipped many horses - definately a hairy situation.

clean stalls on a twice-daily basis

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeap - don't forget the fields, they need to be cleaned too!

[ QUOTE ]
called the vet out for a colicking horse at 2am

[/ QUOTE ]

Umm, yeah done that too!!! Lots of walking around while waiting for the vet as well.

[ QUOTE ]
been stepped on, bitten, kicked, crushed in a trailer, you name it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I have definately been bitten, stepped on, but never kicked - that is no fun!!

Right now, my horse is all taken care of (had an easy day today), my dog is lying (while drouling) on my bed - and everyone knows with fall all the animals are producing lots of hair - so definately hair everywhere.

About poo - not that it bothers me - my gardner picks up after my dog, and my groom does that for my horses!

[/ QUOTE ]

Finding a babysitter before you go party.

Bad dreams in the middle of the night.

Being forced to watch horrible plays and recitals and then having to lie and say that they were terrific.

Giving up precious beer money in order to budget for braces, broken arms, medicine and school trips.

If you get a "talented" child, you can also add on money for summer college camps and other wonderful, EXPENSIVE trips....

You have no idea what you're missing!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

These very thoughts run through your mind : Man, I was going to buy that new car next year....and the summer trip to Rio is out of the question. Oh, well, 18 years isn't that long....

That's the whole problem!!!!! Do you know how complicated it is to pull off a Vegas trip?

That's the whole point, and it's one of the most amazing experiences in life.

Right after prostate removal surgery and tumor removal....amazing! Absolutely amazing!

Buy a rabbit....

My disclaimer : I do enjoy being a parent. I don't regret having children.

That being said, it's not the defining accomplishment in my life. It's a very cool accomplishment - one of the greatest. However, you can't tell if you're a successful parent until they've moved out and went on their own. That pretty much sums it up.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I love our kids, but there is life beyond the parenting thing. I think if you want them...great. If you don't... don't have them. All will be well for everyone. Motherhood doesn't define who I am . It is a part of who I am. I am lots of things. I am very glad to be a mom, but that makes me no better than anyone who doesn't have chldren.

[ QUOTE ]
honestly, I still have those same issues... I have a body pillow and 3 cats to keep me company - but I sure would like a dog that could give me a little more protective sense... we have lots of windows in the house and sometimes, that freaks me out too...but after a while, you get used to it.. and before you know it, your the one that changes the lightbulbs, calls the garagedoor repairman and is the fixer-uper for the home etc....

usually the first night doug's gone, i have a hard time sleeping and will sometimes sleep with the lights on - lately, i've been working so hard that i'm "out" by the time I turn on my "sleep music" and my head hits the pillow...

[/ QUOTE ]

Call me girl I'll come over and keep you safe and your hubby won't have to worry bout any hanky pankie going on when he isn't there.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/spin2.gif

"Riibbbiiit"

One of my favorite cartoons EVER!
grin.gif

mine too! probably why i never forgot about it! haha
grin.gif

now if only they would put those type of cartoons back on and get rid of all the anime beat-em-up cartoons!

I remember back in the late 80s early 90s some groups in and around my area were trying to get WB cartoons censored due to violence. So, they wanted HAPPY endings to the Road Runner/Wiley Coyote escapades.......

Give me the old racist, violent Looney Tunes from my childhood and I'll be a happy guy. Parents underestimate children's 'toughness' and ability to put it in historical perspective -- if you teach them history.

Doug I never realised that:

Taz chases everyone - he is brown.

Yogi Bear steals - he is brown

Wile E. Coyote chases roodrunner - he is brown.

Beagle Boys who want to steal Scrouges fortunes - yeap you guessed it they are brown.

Witch Hazel - she is brown (first time I have heard of a brown witch).

Sylvester Shyster evil lawyer and black.

Pocahontas lives in a cave and is brown.

Geez, I never realised toons were that way!

You're probably too young to have seen the originals though!

Back in the early 1970's -- now THOSE cartoons were the shiznit my friend!
