Getting back into Learjets (25)

What would be a good reference for operating tips for someone whose been away a while from Lears 25 Series? Both procedures and recommended operating techniques.

Turn the left stall warning off and go for it! If it's an older 25 with a 305 vmo, you can disregard it and go 350 all day long and if you get tired of hearing the overspeed warning, you can remove the audio panels and turn down the warning horn volume adjustment pots that are located on the side.

Aren't you supposed to pull the warning light CBs? So I've heard that works on the 35.

I know it works on 20 series and I'm pretty sure I've done it on 35's as well. I've never pulled a CB, except all the stuff that was wired directly to the batts, at the end of the flight.

Where do you plan on flying a 20-series at? Pretty much the only ones left in the states are med evac, and even those are dwindling rapidly.

Enjoy flying it until Jan 1. unless it has the hush kits.

Do you know if there are any 20 series Lears out there with the hush kits installed? If so, I wonder how many. I figured all the 20 series Lears were just going away after this year. I'm sure most of them are. :(

Not many. There's 1 that comes into SNA every blue moon. All of them are down in Mexico for all I know.

Avcon runs a couple out of IXD. See them through DDC every once in a while.

The 20 will migrate to Mexico just like the Sabreliner, as the hushkits cost as much as the airframe (with the engines).

Interesting... thanks for the article.

So it seems to me that, in theory, it is a pretty regular thing to disable all of the overspeed gizmos and go out beyond Mmo? Is it just that the frame is capable of much more but for whatever certification reason it was restricted to something much much less?
Mach Tuck, the engines can push the airframe fast enough to move the center of lift aft on the wing causing a very unpleasant nose down pitching action. IIRC the 20 series have stick pushers and pullers.
