Ironically the last time I canceled IFR while still in the air was going in to AVL one night in a CRJ. Despite my FO making regular position reports (including "any traffic please advise"... cringe) a 9E crj taxied out onto the opposite end and announced their intentions to take off. Hilarity ensued. I went around. Dude never said a word and took off underneath us. Ended up on a conference call with my DO, the 9E DO, and a bunch of FAA guys. No idea what happened to the other crew but I just assumed it was a Gulfstreamer or a JetU guy.

As a previous Corporate pilot, I don’t take offense to your lame joke attempt. I do find it annoying you try and justify your actions over and over again, even when you’re completely wrong.

How do you know the individual went through an AQP program? Several airlines out there still do standard PC’s. Atlas is one of them.
I’ve yet to do an initial type under AQP and I’m on my third.

It’s funny how many people freak out when AQP gets rolled out. “Ok, the MV is literally the same PC you’ve done for years and the LOE is the LOFT, usually with a super easy failure somewhere.”Dude you’re missing out. AQP is so easy!!!

True. I did PCs from 2007-2020. They were also easy enough, though with less room for errors/mistakes and opportunities to recover.
4 failed PCs? Colgan says hi. Whether PC or AQP, you shouldn’t have 4 failed 121 training events. Find a new line of work. And if it’s a divorce, death, or sickness in family, pull out of the training event and take time out.
