An uncommanded auto-land is the ultimate "Now what's it doing?" moment.

The Garmin Auto land picks up the weather, selects the most appropriate airport/runway, configures the aircraft, and lands.

It will land on a less-than-ideal runway if no appropriate runway exists.

It will also set up a hold pattern if the aircraft is not in the ideal configuration and energy state.

It automatically squawks 7700 so approach/center will know something is wrong.

Autoland also announces intentions, runway selected, location, time to land, and emergency status.

It's actually a relatively robust system.

Anyone know how much weight this adds to a Kingair? Is this available on a pc 12 incase I win the powerball?

Yep!
The disconnect will be different depending on the manufacturer.
You might have to change the FD and altitude select afterward

It's more of a "Watching Netflix" or "Falling Asleep" moment.

And the pilot really REALLY should knows the systems.

No... a pilot should have MASTERY of the systems AND avionics.

Last I checked, Tesla autopilot had a 90% lower chance of fatality per mile.

The FAA would implement ANY program TODAY if it reduced the fatalities... in a SPECIFIC segment... by merely 10%

I mean, I presume (and awful presumptuous of me to presume this) that there is a CB you could pull that could kill this... and arguably if I we're flying a king air with this function, I would probably have it with one of those cool "quick pull" CB collars? I mean, just saying. It's a king air, not the space shuttle. But also, yes, it is MUCH more scary to me that the guy couldn't figure out how to turn it off lol.

The problem is you're not likely to die by your own hand, you're far more likely to be run over by some jackenape in a gigantic truck that he's used to pull a bout a grand total of 1-time and it was a 15' lund.

so if the system doesnt work unless you have 100% participation what are the real odds?

Again, dependent on the manufacturer if Original Equipment, or the installer if aftermarket.

OEM's tend to have a CB on the Capt side, Red or Orange collar SHOULD be there, but usually is not.
